This week, we were pleased to organise a showcase event to spotlight the ongoing projects and initiatives at CFCM.
Green Futures is a new business support initiative to help organisations in the race to net zero, make smarter use of natural resources and seize opportunities for green growth.
CFCM held a workshop event with the purpose to create an environment where like-minded companies and the university can come together to face the challenges in decarbonisation and embrace the net-zero opportunities facing the UK.
This event had a fantastic turn out from a wide range of sectors including marine, off highway, defence, aero and rail.
At the Celebration of Marine Innovation event this month, we were delighted to see two of our projects supporting Maritime companies win awards. This was a great event celebrating the work of the Marine Business Technology Centre (MBTC), ERDF Funded Project.
New commissioned report to identify the most plausible ways for the fleet to develop towards net-zero while indicating areas that
need to be improved to allow this.
Maritime Strategy Workshop 4th May, covering the scale and nature of the marine and maritime economy in the South West.
We are excited to announce Joe Wright will be taking on the role of Experimental Officer at CFCM.
We also have a new member of our team, Debbie Ironside-Smith who joins us as the new Senior Administrator.
CFCM were delighted to visit Coastal Workboats, a market-leading, sustainable boatyard based between Devon and Scotland.
The EMotive Scarab is a fully built and driveable prototype of the world’s first zero-emission all-terrain six-wheel commercial electric vehicle. This project was to utilise the knowledge within CFCM to investigate novel applications for the Scarab.
River Exe Group is an SME based in Devon in the maritime leisure sector who is looking to reduce their carbon footprint and reliance on fossil fuels.
CFCM was able to provide business support to River Exe Group through an ERDF funded project with the Marine Business Technology Centre (MBTC).
The Centre for Future Clean Mobility partners with businesses to develop low-emissions, high-efficiency integrated power systems for applications in the marine, off-highway, rail, defence, and energy sectors.
