One of our most recent partnerships is with Quattro Group, a leading contractor providing maintenance and repair services in the rail, road and construction industries. CFCM and Quattro Group won funding for an EPSRC- and Innovate UK-funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), which started last year and will last for two years. The aim of this partnership is to design a new clean powertrain for road-rail vehicles for use on the railways which go past our houses, schools and hospitals.
Professor Chris Smith commented on this new partnership, “The work I’m doing with Quattro in a KTP and EngD projects is exciting and I can see it making a huge change in emissions on the railways in the very near future”.
Bob Browning, Head of Corporate Strategy at Quattro Plant, also believes in the key importance of this partnership.
“Quattro Group plans to be the cleanest provider of professional services into the rail and construction sectors. Our work with Prof Chris Smith is central to our clean growth ambitions, and we’re pleased to be partners with CFCM at the University of Exeter.”
